July music at the Royal Room (7/11) and the Quarterdeck (7/26)
Happy summer!
We hope you all are enjoying the beginning of this shimmery season with its extra long days and warm quiet nights. We've got a couple fun shows this month that are great for the whole family......
First up, next Thursday, July 11th will be our second show in the Great Women of Folk and Country music series at the Royal Room. This show will highlight the music of Joan Armatrading, Brandy Clark, Patty Griffin and Emmylou Harris with performances by Abby K, jean mann, Willow Scrivner, Kim Virant and Cami Voss. Sue Quigley is the curator and MC of this event and you'll find me onstage with fellow Lonesome Lover, Greg Fulton along with Aimee Zoe (drums) and Mike McDermott (bass). Tickets are available now.
For our friends in the south end, the Lonesome Lovers and I are returning to one of our favorite outdoor venues, the Quarterdeck in Des Moines, Friday, July 26th. Sip a glass of beer or wine in big lounge chairs while we serenade you with songs new and old. This family friendly show starts at 6pm and you'll be home before the sun goes down.
And for those of you who love to plan ahead, CCLL will be playing a show at Tim's Tavern on Tuesday, August 20th. It's an early show at 7pm with our friends, Willow and Wood. Tacos, margaritas, outdoor patio and family friendly. What better way to spend a Tuesday night and still be home before it gets dark. Tickets on sale now!
Lots more music coming up later this summer, but in the meantime enjoy shedding those layers and thank you all so much for being on this musical journey with us. We couldn't do what we do without each and everyone of you.
